If you cannot answer YES to questions with a then you are a novice climber but will be allowed to boulder, for you own safety you will NOT be allowed to use the Climbing Walls unless:

i You are under supervision by a member of staff who can be hired and are usually available at all times.
ii You have a friend with you who is capable if showing you how to perform the above procedures correctly. This person must be prepared to assume all responsibility for your supervision during your climbing session and must complete a Novice Supervision form on the reverse of this form.
iii You successfully pass an 'Introduction to Climbing at the Warehouse' course.

Novice Supervision (experienced climbers over 18)

I am aware that the name overleaf is unfamiliar with the techniques listed in A - C on the other side of this form and I am prepared to take resposibility for them whilst they are using the climbing centre. I accept that neither the operating company, nor it its employees, shall be liable for any loss or injury arising from our participation in the activity.

Supervisors

I, the supervisor as signed below, am over 18yrs and are familiar with and understand the techniques listed in A - C on the other side of this form and do not require instruction in the use of them. I am also capable of demonstrating the above techniques to the novice climber and ensuring his / her safety whilst using the climbing centre.

You may only sign in two novices at any one time. Any more than two people consists of a group.
Groups must book in prior to a visit and have qualified climbing instructors.

Rules Of The Climbing Centre

SAFE CLIMBING
  1. Climbers are invited on the understanding that the centre cannot be held resposible for an individuals own action.
  2. Do not take any unneccessary risks beyond your own capability.
  3. Be aware of other climbers. Give way to people climbing above you.
  4. The main area is for roped climbing only. Bouldering and solo climbing is NOT allowed in this area.
  5. Lead climbing is not permitted on centre ropes.
  6. "Tope Rope" only climbers must not lead climb.
  7. "Tope Rope" only climbers are NOT permitted to belay lead climbers.
  8. Spectators must keep at least 2 metres away from the base of any wall to ensure nothing can fall on them.
  9. Keep equipment away from the base of the walls.
  10. Recommended Equipment:
    Footwear : Ideally rock climbing boots or plimsolls. Trainers are not recommended.
    Harness : Full sit harnesses must be used. Small children must use full body harnesses.
    Helmets : It is recommended that climbers wear a helmet.
    Belaying : Only recognised belaying devices to be used, no Italian Hitches.
  11. Do not attempt to remove or swap holds.
  12. Loose holds should be reported to the centre staff.
  13. Requests to vary routes should be made at reception.
  14. Entry ticket must be displayed.
  15. When leading, all protection points relating to the route being climbed must be clipped.
  16. Lower off at a steady rate to avoid scorching of ropes and injury.
  17. No more than one rope to be clipped into an anchor at any time - please use adjacent anchor points if available.
  18. Members should behave in a considerate manner to retain the friendly atmosphere of the centre.
SAFE BOULDERING

These are in addition to the safe climbing rules.

  1. Please be aware of other climbers; avoid falling onto other persons.
  2. Do not overcrowd the boulder.
  3. All climbing hardware must be removed.
  4. Refrain from climbing on top of the boulder.
  5. No running on bouldering floor.
  6. Do not play on the mats!
  7. Please behave in considerate manner so that the friendly atmosphere of the centre is maintained.
